ഡോ ആശാലത ഉദേശം 40 വര്‍ഷതോളമായ് കേരളത്തിന്‍റെ സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ രംഗത്ത് അധ്യാപികയായും പ്രിന്സിപാള്‍ ആയും സേവനം അനുഷ്ടിച്ചുവരുന്നു. ഗവണ്മെന്റ് മേഖലയിലും സ്വാശ്രയ മേഖലയിലും ഉള്ള തന്‍റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തി പരിചയത്തിലൂടെ, ആര്‍ക്കിടെക്ചര്‍ വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ കേരളത്തിന്‍റെ ആദ്യ ഡോക്ടറേറ്റ് നേടിയ ഈ വനിത നമ്മുടെ ഇന്നത്തെ സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ രംഗത്തെ അവലോകനം ചെയ്യുന്നു. മുന്നേറാന്‍ ഇനിയുമുണ്ടെന്ന ചോദ്യം നമ്മെ ഓര്‍മപെടുത്തുന്ന ഈ അഭിമുഖം കേന്ദ്ര ഗവണ്മെന്റ് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണമായ യോജനയുടെ ജൂണ്‍ ലക്കത്തില്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
Good selection of topic. I liked the questions,especially the 8th question which is very relevant in the current educational set up. We need a link between the technical education and research. The students shud get opportunity to apply what they learn theoretically. Otherwise no use of such knowledge.
ReplyDeleteI have had the opportunity to closely interact with Prof. Ashalatha Thampuran when she was the Principal of College of Engineering Trivandrum. Her initiative, drive and boldness to overcome bureaucratic hurdles has greatly contributed in leading the college to new frontiers. As she rightly says, the educational process needs a re-look. Either the colleges should become independent of the University or the University should improve its ways. It is a pity we see hardly anyone from the technical education stream moving into the helm of affairs at the University.
